P,T-violating nuclear matrix elements in the one-meson exchange approximation.
Expressions for the P,T-violating NN potentials are derived for π, ρ and ω exchange. The nuclear matrix elements for ρ and ω exchange are shown to be greatly suppressed, so that, under the assumption of comparable coupling constants, π exchange would dominate by two orders of magnitude. The ratio of P,T-violating to P-violating matrix elements is found to remain approximately constant across th...

متن کاملNuclear G-Matrix Elements from Nonlocal Potentials
We study effects of nonlocality in the nuclear force on the G-matrix elements for finite nuclei. Nuclear G-matrix elements for 16O are calculated in the harmonic oscillator basis from a nonlocal potential which models quark exchange effects between two nucleons. We employ a simple form of potential that gives the same phase shifts as a realistic local nucleon potential. The G-matrix elements ca...
متن کاملDisassembling the nuclear matrix elements of the neutrinoless ββ decay
In this article we analyze the nuclear matrix elements (NME) of the neutrinoless double beta decays (0νββ) of the nuclei 48Ca, 76Ge, 82Se, 124Sn, 128Te, 130Te and 136Xe in the framework of the interacting shell model (ISM). We study the relative value of the different contributions to the NME’s, such as higher order terms in the nuclear current, finite nuclear size effects and short range corre...
متن کاملRelation between the 0νββ and 2νββ nuclear matrix elements reexamined
We show that the dominant Gamow-Teller part, M GT, of the nuclear matrix element governing the neutrinoless ββ decay is related to the matrix element M cl governing the allowed two-neutrino ββ decay. That relation is revealed when these matrix elements are expressed as functions of the relative distance r between the pair of neutrons that are transformed into a pair of protons in the ββ decay. ...
